The Jacket Pattern

Well after all my toiling with a mockup I finally picked it all apart and laid the pattern pieces out flat to see how they compare with the ones in Janet Arnold's book. It's strange to me that such a tailored jacket boils down to surprisingly few and basic shapes. When I alter this to make my robe anglaise I will have to section the back piece to follow the lines of the dress seams, but otherwise it's pretty much there. I am only now waiting for my fabric to dry on the line before I cut my new jacket out.
